Village of Germantown President and Board of Trustees met Feb. 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular monthly Board meeting of the President and Board of Trustees for the Village of Germantown was held at 7:00 p.m. Those present included the following: Village President Duane Ripperda, Trustees: Ken Albers, Ken Brauer, Brad Schroeder and Jerald Schroeder. Clerk Dawn Lakenburges and Police Chief Jeff Wuebbles were also present. Trustees Roger Rickhoff, Michael Albers, Supt. Steve Mullins, and Village Attorney Aaron Epplin were present via ZOOM. Justin VonderHaar of HMG was also present.

The minutes of the previous month’s meetings were available for review. A motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Ken Albers, seconded by Trustee Jerald Schroeder. Motion carried.

Justin VonderHaar of HMG Engineers was present to discuss the water and sewer replacement project. Justin said Gelly Excavating has completed the sewer portion of the project with the exception of a few tests. Five percent of the contract is being held until everything is complete and cleaned up. There will be a contract “deduct” for several items removed from the project in the amount of $22,974.90 and a project addition of $8,745.00 for an additional sewer line replacement. He also presented the Board with Pay Request #3.

VonderHaar reported on the Water Project. Korte-Luitjohan are working on laying water lines down Church Street now. They are laying the main lines and will connect services later. A change will be made to the contract to eliminate Molitor and add Elm, Locust, Prairie and Munster. They will try to reabsorb theses costs into the loan. He also presented the Board with Pay Request #1.

Trustee Ken Brauer made a motion to approve the change order for Gelly Excavating. Trustee Jerald Schroeder seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Ken Albers made a motion to approve the change order for Korte-Luitjohan. Trustee Brad Schroeder seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Brad Schroeder made a motion to approve the extra engineering costs for the changes not to exceed $7500. Trustee Ken Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Village President, Duane Ripperda, said the 2nd COVID vaccine day will be held Monday at the Legion. He also said he hoped to have more vaccine days in Germantown. He will keep the board posted.

President Ripperda said the debris yard hauling was short lived as the fields were too muddy. They will try again before the end of winter. Ripperda has several farmers willing to take debris and have it spread on their fields.

Police Chief Jeff Wuebbles gave his report next. He said his is continuing to work on getting more cameras in town.

Clerk Lakenburges presented the Board with the MFT Resolution Supplement for calendar year 2020. Trustee Jerald Schroeder made a motion to adopt Resolution 2021-01, 2020 Supplement Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code. Trustee Ken Brauer seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Ken Brauer made a motion to adopt Resolution 2021-02, 2021 Resolution for Maintenance Under the Illinois Highway Code. Trustee Ken Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Supt. Steve Mullins gave his report next. Mullins thanked Chief Wuebbles for all his help in snow plowing. The extra hand helped tremendously.

The Board also commended the Maintenance Department on the snow removal after the large snowstorm over the weekend.

Trustee Jerald Schroeder said the Finance Committee will meet in the next few weeks regarding the budget. He will have more to report next month.

Trustee Ken Brauer, Chairman of the Zoning, Subdivision & TIF Committee, said the Committee will meet this month to finalize the subdivision agreement for Ryan Linnemann.

Trustee Jerald Schroeder made a motion to pay all bills as presented. Trustee Michael Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Ken Brauer then made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Roger Rickhoff seconded the motion and the motion carried. Meeting adjourned 7:25 pm.
