City of Centralia Cemetery Advisory Commission met April 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

I. Call to Order

II. Public Participation -- None

III. Approval of Previous Minutes

• February 9, 2021 – minutes Amended and motion to approve: 1st – Patton & 2nd – Schilling

• March 9, 2021 meeting cancelled – no minutes to approve

IV. Treasurers Report – Elmwood Cemetery report 1st. Patton 2nd. Collins

V. Ongoing Business

• Stella Schilling

i. Lowell was going to meet members of the group about low spots that hold water but didn’t meet with them

ii. Stella asked Pat about it

iii. Lowell had said it would have to have engineers to remediate the issue

• Eric Collins

i. Reminder for mowers to be careful around the shepherd hooks

• Public Property Director’s Report

i. Floral Regulations – requests the commission come up with regulations to be posted at the cemetery

1. Get specific dates, how long flowers can be out, and holidays

ii. Equipment

1. Pat requested a Mule, Polaris Ranger, or something with a wagon or bed to assist in the cemetery’s maintenance

VI. New Business

• Memorial Day Service

i. Event would be Sat. May 29 at 10:00AM

ii. Moran will provide tent & chairs & the program

iii. We need to decide on a speaker and maybe make it about Ann Chapel’s service, the Spanish flue epidemic connecting to our current pandemic

iv. Flags will be placed the Thursday before either in the morning or if necessary, in the evening

v. Flags will be removed the Tuesday after the event

VII. Adjournment Crain moved to adjourn at 12:55PM seconded by Patton
