Macoupin County Road and Bridge Committee met April 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Kiel, Quarton, Acord, Armour, Harding (Remote), Heuer, Wiggins, Reinhart

ABSENT:

II. AUDIT BILLS

1. Review and Recommend monthly claims

Claims 12572 through 12612 totaling $ 126,950.17 were read and the following motion was made:

Motion made by Armour seconded by Acord to approve the claims and recommend payment by the full board.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Todd Armour, Member

SECONDER: Matthew Acord, Member

AYES: Kiel, Quarton, Acord, Armour, Harding, Wiggins

ABSENT: Heuer

III. 50/50 PETITIONS

The following 50/50 project petitions were presented:

Project Estimate County Share

Barr #49 $ 7,000.00 $ 3,500.00 Girard #10 10,000.00 5,000.00

The County’s obligation for the projects will be the “County Share” only.

Motion made by Quarton seconded by Armour to approve the petitions and recommend passage by the full board. All in favor.

RESULT: RECOMMENDED [UNANIMOUS]

SECONDER: Todd Armour, Member

AYES: Kiel, Quarton, Acord, Armour, Harding, Wiggins

ABSENT: Heuer

IV. NEW BUSINESS

Motion made by Armour seconded by Wiggins to seat Mr. Heuer at 9:09 a.m. . All in favor.

V. DISCUSSION

1. Road Conditions

The Committee discussed the condition of several county highways including Fosterburg Road and the reconstructed portion of Nine Mile Road. The pavement structure of these roads failed in isolated locations as the ground quickly thawed this spring. These locations have been temporarily repaired with permanent repairs scheduled for this summer.

2. Oil Letting April 22nd

Reinhart informed the Committee that MFT oil and patch letting will be held Thursday, April 22nd at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
