Report: Panhandle School District spent $10,999 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Panhandle Community Unit School District 2 was up 12.8 percent from five years ago, according to the South Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Montgomery County school district spent $9,755 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,999 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 492 to 480 students over the same period.

Panhandle's spending in 2019-20 was 24.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
