City of Centralia Tourism Commission met March 15.

IV. MINUTES –

February 15th, 2022 – 1st Germann 2nd Schroeder All voted in favor.

V. TREASURER’S REPORT – Walsh: Walsh gave the report that the balance as of the end of February was $50, 044.43. Motion to approve was made 1st Schroeder 2nd Finn All voted in favor.

VI. ONGOING BUSINESS

1. Amtrak Station – Improvements

i. The Commission decided to pursue metal art installations for the planters outside of the station and recommended that Derek look into KC helping as they have a new CNC machine & it might work as a class project. Additionally, the interior recommendations were to ask the Cultural Society’s Light & Lens club and the Centralia Historical Society if there were any photos that could be donated to spruce the interior up with a mix of modern and historic images. It was also suggested that we rotate the interior photo displays to keep it interesting.

VIII. DISCUSSION

1. It was suggested to make a planned trolley route for Locust Street Fair to the agenda for the next meeting’s discussion, and the how to utilize the trolley to support local businesses & events more often.
