Macoupin County Road and Bridge Committee met Feb. 7.

II. AUDIT BILLS
1. Review and Recommend monthly claims
Claims 12989 through 13022 totaling $ 109,494.59 were read and the following motion was made:
Motion made by Armour seconded by Wiggins to approve the claims and recommend payment by the full board.

IV. NEW BUSINESS
1. Resolution approving the results of the 2022 MFT rock letting
The Committee reviewed the results of the January 20th Motor Fuel Tax rock letting for the county and townships. The following motion was made:
Motion made by Armour, seconded by Acord to approve and recommend to the full board a resolution to accept the bids and award contracts to the low bidders.

The Committee reviewed a resolution appropriating REBUILD Illinois funds to pay for the Ameren natural gas main relocation on the Brighton-Bunker Hill Road project. This resolution is supplemental to the resolution passed in November 2020 for $320,000. The actual cost of the gas line relocation exceeded estimate by 40% resulting in the need for additional funding. The following motion was made:
Motion made by Quarton, seconded by Kiel to recommend the full Board approve the supplemental REBUILD Illinois Resolution to appropriate $ 129,889.24 for the Ameren gas main relocation on the Brighton-Bunker Hill Road.

1. Brighton-Bunker Hill Road preliminary engineering
The Committee discussed the preliminary engineering contract for the Brighton Bunker Hill Road project at length. Preliminary engineering for the project has been underway since 2006 and final plans have not been completed.
2. Update on Winter Storm Previous Week
The Committee discussed last week’s snow storm. Reinhart reported he had five trucks get stuck and four trucks breakdown. In addition, one of the loaders also broke down. The highway crew worked 14 hours on Wednesday, 14 hours on Thursday, and 13 hours on Friday.
