Q2: Home prices in Salem fell

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2022 in Salem fell by $14,000 while total sales decreased by 31.4 percent, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June, there were 35 homes sold, with a median sale price of $110,000 - an 11.3 percent decrease from the $124,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 51 homes sold in Salem in the second quarter of 2021.

The median sales tax in Salem for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $1,352, approximately 1.2 percent of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2022.
