(a) Approval of Minutes – July 18, 2022

2. Ordinance approval to surplus a number of unclaimed bicycles recovered by the Police Department to allow for the bikes to be given away in the near future.

3. Request to utilize the Centennial Park and to close off a half block of East McMackin for a Christmas event sponsored by the City on December 3rd from noon to 7pm.

1. Consent agenda – Approval of minutes of the July 18th, 2022 Salem City Council meeting. Recommend approval of the minutes from July 18th, 2022.

2. The Salem Police Department is seeking permission to declare as surplus the inventory of over 40 unclaimed bicycles that they have accumulated since their last give away in 2020. Pending Council action to surplus the items, the bicycles will be given away at a future date that will be announced via the news media and social media. Recommending approval to surplus the unclaimed bicycles that have been collected by the Salem Police Department.

3. Plans are being developed for a Christmas event on Sweney’s Corner for December 3rd. Tabitha Meador and Jed Casburn are requesting permission to utilize Sweney Corner, Centennial Park and to close a portion of East McMackin St between South Broadway and the west entrance to the public parking lot behind the Salem Times Commoner Building from noon to 7pm on that date. This will allow them to expand the event and attract some food trucks for participants. Recommend approval of granting permission to use Sweney Corner, Centennial Park and block off the west half of the 100 block of East McMackin from noon to 7pm on Saturday December 3, 2022.
