Macoupin County Road and Bridge Committee met May 4.

II. AUDIT BILLS
1. Review and Recommend monthly claims
Claims 13214 through 13160 totaling $ 105,335.30 were read and the following motion was made:
Motion made by Armour seconded by Wiggins to approve the claims and recommend payment by the full board.

1. Barr #50
The following 50/50 project petition were presented:

The County’s obligation for the project will be the “County Share” only.
Motion made by Acord seconded by Quarton to approve the petition and recommend passage by the full board.

1. Resolution approving the results of the 2020 MFT rock letting
The Committee reviewed the results of the April 20nd Motor Fuel Tax oil and patch letting for the county and townships. Prices are up significantly over 2021 which had been expected. The following motion was made:
Motion made by Armour, seconded by Wiggins to approve and recommend to the full board a resolution to accept the bids and award contracts to the low bidders.

A Preliminary Engineering Agreement with WHKS of Springfield for replacement of the bridge carrying Hagaman Road over Solomon Creek, (Structure 059-3037) was considered. The bridge is currently posted 7 tons and has serious structural issues. The following motion was made:
Motion made by Wiggins, seconded by Quarton to recommend the full board approve the Preliminary Engineering Agreement with WHKS for replacement of structure 059-3037 with necessary approaches in an amount not to exceed $98,950.00.

1. Apex Energy Windfarm
The Committee briefly discussed the Apex Energy Windfarm proposed in the County. Kiel and Reinhart met with Chairman Schmidt to discuss Road Use Agreement and the permitting process.
