Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer has been getting active as the November election is on its way.

“Playing a little catch-up on my recent activity,” he wrote on Facebook.

Ballotpedia noted Davidsmeyer took to office in 2012 and his term is expected to end in 2023.

He’s stayed busy during the legislative recess, and recently cheered the winner of the Golden Abe Fantastic Fair Food contest - Fried What?! of Grafton.

Vote Smart noted Davidsmeyer has also been active in voting against any abortion-rights efforts in the state.

“Although Illinois has taken proactive steps to protect women’s reproductive rights, millions of women could be in danger should Roe v. Wade be overturned, and this regressive move would set our country back by more than five decades,” Senator Adriane Johnson said in a release. “Reproductive care is essential for women's health, especially in underserved areas. I will continue to fight against this injustice and support women through these intense times.”

In May, he thanked legislators who supported a bill on cyber security for the state legislature.

“Many of you know that when I stand up and speak on the House floor, most often I am speaking in opposition to a bill,” Davidsmeyer said in the session, quoted by the South Central Reporter. “Some may see it more as a slap in the face because I’m very straightforward in how I talk. Today, I’m here not as a slap in the face but as a pat on the back for the work that you’ve done on this bill, Rep. LaPointe."

“It is good to see that when good legislation can be made better, we can pull it from the record, not take an immediate vote, and come back with an even better bill. I hope this will be a lesson to this body on how we can better serve our constituents together. I really appreciate your willingness to pull it from a vote in the exec committee and come back with an amendment that would fix the bill and make it stronger for the Ukrainian people. Thank you.”

Vote Smart notes that Davidsmeyer voted against prohibiting sexual orientation conversion therapy for youths. The bill created the Youth Mental Health Protection Act, ensuring youths in the LGBT-plus community are safe from the harmful process.

In the June election, Davidsmeyer defeated Democrat Brandon Adams.
