Ag Safety Day on June 25th went well and had a great turn out.
Friday, August 12 at Crawford’s in Moweaqua students are invited to have pizza and get to know the Moweaqua and Assumption officers. The cost will be split between Moweaqua and Assumption.
Chief Wade received a grant for bullet resistant shields.
The committee discussed at length on how to fill the vacancy since Officer Zeitler resigned. It is a competitive market and other agencies start out pay is more than what the City pays. The cost of living has increased.
The committee also discussed residency and talked about the whether or not to abolish it or to extend the limit to surrounding counties. It was also mentioned if housing was available within the current residency requirements.
Chief Wade would like to have applicants do a fitness test before interviewing. If they can’t pass the fitness test than they won’t be able to attend the training.
The committee would like to advertise for applications.
The committee would like the officers to continue to observe the park.
The committee adjourned at 7:02 pm.
