City of Greenville Board of Adjustments met Sept, 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Following the Executive Order issued by Governor Pritzker and with the surge in COVID Omicron variant, it has been determined by Mayor Barber that this public meeting be held both in-person and by remote participation.

The Board of Adjustments meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Chairperson Rena Ward.

1. ROLL CALL

Committee Members Present:

Board of Adjustments Member Crystal Grove, Board of Adjustments Member Dale Hastings, Board of Adjustments Member Doug Faulkner, Board of Adjustments Member Rena Ward, and Board of Adjustments Member Rich Zbinden

Committee Members Absent:

Board of Adjustments Member Tony Atchison

Staff Present: Inspector Jeff Ketten, City Manager JoAnn Hollenkamp, and City Clerk Jody Weiss, Mayor George Barber

Public Present: Perry Stanfa, Alice Blumberg, Kimberly Cramer, Jeff Leidel

3.1. Minutes of:

A) July 8, 2022 Board of Adjustment Minutes

Motion by Crystal Grove, seconded by Dale Hastings, to approve minutes from July 8, 2022.

RESULT: Carried

MOVER: Crystal Grove

SECONDER: Dale Hastings

AYES: Crystal Grove, Dale Hastings, Doug Faulkner, Rena Ward, and Rich Zbinden

ABSENT: Tony Atchison

4. MATTERS OF CONSIDERATION

4.1. Public Hearing #1 was opened at 6:01 PM. Crystal Grove asked if this was a new shed, and the Kimberly Cramer said no, it was from her previous residence and they set it at the most convenient spot. There is a huge tree in the middle of the property and to remove it would be extremely difficult. Public Hearing #1 was closed at 6:03 PM.

Motion by Dale Hastings, seconded by Doug Faulkner, to approve the variance to the rear setback at 519 Eastern Avenue.

RESULT: Carried

AYES: Dale Hastings, Doug Faulkner, Crystal Grove, Rena Ward, and Rich Zbinden ABSENT: Tony Atchison

4.2. Public Hearing #2 opened at 6:05 PM. Mr. Stanfa has hired Pat Netemeyer to engineer the project. Scott Lurkins, the adjoining neighbor, had contacted BoA members with his concerns about the variance request. He feels the ditch cannot hold the water in the ditch currently and feels this building will cause more issues. Mr. Stanfa said his engineer states there will be no problem. Mr. Stanfa also said that if necessary, he would dig the ditch deeper between his and Mr. Lurkins property. Closed Public Hearing at 6:07 PM

Motion by Dale Hastings, seconded by Doug Faulkner, to approve the request from Mr. Perry Stanfa for a variance to the side setback located at 1713 E Bowman Drive

RESULT: Carried

SECONDER: Doug Faulkner

AYES: Dale Hastings, Doug Faulkner, Crystal Grove, Rena Ward, and Rich Zbinden ABSENT: Tony Atchison

5. ADJOURNMENT

Rich Zbinden made a motion to adjourn the Board of Adjustments at 6:16 PM seconded by Rena Ward.

RESULT: Carried
