City of Pana City Council met Nov. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Nathan Pastor called the meeting of the Pana City Council to order at 7:00 P.M. 

The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited. 

Roll Call showed the following Aldermen as being present: Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods, Beeson were present. Hocq, Stephens, Scott were absent. Five Alderman were present. Three were absent. 

Woods/Eddy to approve the consent agenda as presented. Items included in the consent agenda are the minutes of the November 14, 2022 regular session meeting, payrolls to be paid on November 18, 30 and December 2, 2022, disbursements to be paid on December 1, 2022, and the Treasurer's Report of October 2022. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods, Beeson voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Woods/Beeson to pass Ordinance #1896, "An Ordinance Amending Pana Code of Ordinances - Special Events." The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Schneider, Smith, Woods, Beeson, Eddy voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Eddy/Woods to pass Ordinance #1897, "An Ordinance Imposing a Charge for City Inspections." The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Smith, Woods, Beeson, Eddy, Schneider voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Schneider/Woods to acknowledge the first presentation of "An Ordinance Providing for a Waiver and Variance Process for Certain Subdivision Plats." The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Beeson, Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Woods/Schneider to acknowledge the first presentation of "An Ordinance Annexing Property to the City of Pana - Dagens Pana Auto Service (Thad Dagen)." The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods, Beeson voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Schneider/Woods to acknowledge the first presentation of "An Ordinance Authorizing the Exchange of Property - Howard G. Buffett." The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Schneider, Smith, Woods, Beeson, Eddy voting aye. No nays. Five Ayes. 

Woods/Eddy to acknowledge the first presentation of "An Ordinance Levying Taxes for Municipal Purposes for the City of Pana Illinois for the Current Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2022 and Ending April 30, 2023." The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Smith, Woods, Beeson, Eddy, Schneider voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Woods/Schneider to pass Resolution #22-43, "A Resolution Approving an Access Easement for PFG in the Industrial Park." The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Beeson, Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

City Engineer Greg Holthaus thanked the Street, Water, and Waste Water departments for their hard in work repairing the leak by Walgreens. Enbridge has removed the old pipeline over the Spillway. New Wave has a cable over the Spillway that will be moved. 

City Clerk Kim Toberman informed Council that the Surplus Property online auction with Price Spracklen has ended. Clerk Toberman thanked the city employees for their help getting items to the auction house as well as moving furniture for the carpet installation. 

Mayor Pastor recognized Pana Pride for their donation of demolition services. 

Eddy/Woods to hire Building Maintenance & Restoration LLC to repair stone foundation on gatehouse in the amount of $4,025. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods, Beeson voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Eddy/Woods to hire Building Maintenance & Restoration LLC to remove tile roof on gatehouse and determine needed repairs. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Schneider, Smith, Woods, Beeson, Eddy voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Eddy/Woods to purchase 8 thermal cameras from MEF Fire Equipment in the amount of $5,088 using Safety Grant Funds. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Smith, Woods, Beeson, Eddy, Schneider voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Eddy/Woods to purchase two radios for the Fire Department from Craig Antenna in the amount of $3,991.82 using ARPA Funds. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Beeson, Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Eddy/Woods to purchase one electric ventilation fan from Dinges Fire in the amount of $5,755.90 using ARPA Funds. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods, Beeson voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Eddy/Woods to accept bid from Scott Burris for electrical work at Pavilion near Pana Lake boat ramp in the amount of $864. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Beeson, Eddy, Schneider, Smith, Woods voting aye. No nays. Five ayes. 

Mayor Pastor recognized Dr. Bill Beyers. Dr. Beyers addressed Council regarding Ordinance #1845-Vacant Building Ordinance and the positive progress that has been made. 

Woods/Beeson to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
