City of Carlinville City Council met Jan. 16

City of Carlinville City Council met Jan. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

PRESENT: Alderman Downey, Alderman Harber, Alderman Koller, Alderman LeVora, Alderman Link, Alderman McClain, Alderman Ober, Alderman Wagstaff, Mayor Sarah Oswald, City Clerk Carla Brockmeier, Police Chief Haley, Lieutenant Derek Graham, City Treasurer Jody Reichmann, Woodard and Curran Representative Dan Held

Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills - Motion made to approve bills by Alderman Koller, seconded by McClain, motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

David Haley Correspondence – Mayor read a letter from Police Chief David Haley announcing his retirement on March 17, 2023. A motion was made to approve and place on file from Alderman Ober, seconded by McClain, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment – None

Old Business

IARWC Update – Representative Dan Held updated the council on most recent actions of the IL Regional Water Company. Permits have been obtained for the well fields from EPA and easements are still in the process. A meeting will be held in the near future for land owners at the community room in the Public Safety Building to try to secure easements. No action needed.

2023 Calendar for City Council Meetings/City Hall Holidays – A brief discussion took place regarding possible only doing one city council meeting a month. It was decided to leave at two meetings at this time. We discussed holidays that fall on Mondays and what meetings will be impacted. No action at this time.

Project Management Engineering Services Approval – A breakdown of engineering services from Woodard and Curran for Schein water storage tank, water meter replacement and lead service line inventory were included in the packet. The $107,891.00 for the services has already been approved. No action needed.

New Business

Market Days 2023 – Motion was made to approve Market Days on the square (use of the square) the first Saturday of the month April-November by Alderman Harber, seconded by Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.

Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 6:15 p.m., seconded by Koller motion passed unanimously.
