State Rep. Mike Coffey announced an opportunity for small to mid-sized businesses to be featured in his “Business Spotlight” on a monthly basis in various outlets.

Coffey took to Facebook to make the announcement about the public’s ability to nominate their favorite business from the 95th District.

“Put your favorite small or mid-sized business in the spotlight,” Coffey wrote in a Facebook post, and also included a link to his webpage.

In a post on his website, Coffey said he will highlight a nominated business each month. The nominated business will be highlighted on his website, his newsletter and his Facebook page. The business will also receive a “Business Spotlight” certificate in honor of their nomination.

“Small and medium-sized businesses are the economic engine of our state,” said Coffey. “Not only do these businesses pay taxes and provide the majority of jobs in our state, they also sponsor little league teams, assist our schools, and contribute to not-for-profits. They are the lifeblood of our communities.”

Coffey wrote that people in the 95th District can nominate a business by completing a Business Spotlight form. They can mail the nomination to: State Representative Mike Coffey, E-1 Stratton Office Building, 401 South Spring Street, Springfield, Illinois 62706.

People who submit nominations are asked to include their name and any contact information. They also need to include the name, address, phone number and a brief description of the business they nominate. They can also fill out a form available online at https://repcoffey.com/coffey-business-spotlight/.

Coffey serves the Illinois 95th Legislative District which includes Sangamon County, portions of the city of Springfield and also the villages of Chatham and Rochester. His coverage area also includes parts of Macon and Christian Counties.
