There were eight offenders living in Montgomery County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows all of the released offenders in Montgomery County were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 41. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2021, and the oldest was a 48-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2019.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Steven D. Kuhl. He was convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2019 when he was 44 years old. He is now 48.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
