There were eight offenders living in Macoupin County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows six men and two women were released in Macoupin County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2020, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2020.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Michael D. Lasica. He was convicted of a property crime in 2019 when he was 25 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
