South Central Reporter

There were 10 offenders living in Montgomery County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows six men and four women were released in Montgomery County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 35. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2018, and the oldest was a 66-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2021.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Brent D. Jacobs. He was convicted of homicide in 1999 when he was 22 years old. He is now 45.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
