South Central Reporter

There were nine offenders living in Macoupin County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows all of the released offenders in Macoupin County were men. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2022, and the oldest was a 47-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2021.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Timothy Garrison. He was convicted of a property crime in 2020 when he was 23 years old. He is now 26.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
