Macoupin County municipal officials, including mayors, village board members and school board members, are on the ballot on April 4, the first Tuesday in April.

A total of 176 candidates will compete for 88 municipal offices, including 24 contests for city and village, nine for park, fire and library boards and 25 for school boards.

There are also two voter referendums on the April 4 ballot.

In 2021, the last Macoupin County Consolidated Election, it had 32,142 registered voters and 5,576 cast ballots, or 17.35 percent.

In the 2019 Macoupin County Consolidated Election, it had 31,831 registered voters and 3,695 cast ballots, or 11.61 percent.
