II. AGENDA ITEMS
1. Animal Control HVAC Bids
Kiel said that the Animal Control was working on the HVAC for their building with the American Rescue Plan funding. Boehler said Kufa had checked everything yesterday after the recent charge to the system. She had talked with Scott Kufa yesterday and they didn't feel it was necessary to replace the whole system at this point. She felt it was maybe just how the building was built. One system was put in back in 2010 and the other was put in 2013. Dragovich said the furnace should last for 20 to 25 years and the loop system would should last about 50 years. Based off of all this information, the committee didn't feel that the system should be upgraded at this point. They did discuss some potential solutions to look at to try and keep wind from sweeping in when the door to the outside kennels is open. The committee also wanted to research solar panels for the Animal Control building.
2. Animal Control Security Camera Upgrade
Kiel also said that the animal control building still need a security camera system. They had looked at the old Courthouse security camera system, but felt it wasn't a good fit. Boehler had gotten a bid from Illini Tech for cameras, equipment and installation at about $6,900. Starr had gotten bid from the same vendor as the county had used to get a system for the Courthouse that would cost $5,000 for just the equipment. There might be a way to get the installation covered. After discussion, the Board decided to go with the Illini Tech option
Motion by Adden, seconded by Ibberson to recommend purchasing the system from Illini Tech.
RESULT: MOTION TO RECOMMEND [UNANIMOUS]
