City of Carlinville City Council met Sept. 18

City of Carlinville City Council met Sept. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

PRESENT: Alderman Harber, Alderman Koller, Alderman LeVora, Alderman Link, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman Ober, Alderman Downey, Mayor Sarah Oswald, Deputy City Clerk Julie Stults, Police Chief Graham, and Budget Officer Linda Boente

Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Harber, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills - Motion made to approve reports and bills by Alderman Koller, seconded Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

Cheri Woodson Correspondence – Motion to place Cheri’s retirement letter on file made by Alderman Ober, seconded by Koller, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment

Old Business

Blackburn College Water – Alderman Link requested the City Council approve water hook up for the new building at Blackburn College. Alderman Link explained to the City Council that this passed out of Public Works Committee unanimously. Motion to provide water hook up to Blackburn College in accordance with City ordinance made by Alderman Link, seconded by Ober, motion passes six to one.

New Business

Fall Clean up – October 13th and 14th– Alderman Koller asked if they would get a dumpster at the lake for cleanup. Deputy City Clerk Julie Stults explained that the dumpsters are already scheduled for the cleanup. Motion to pass the fall clean up dates made by Alderman Wagstaff, seconded by Alderman Koller, motion passed unanimously.

Appointment of Administrative Coordinator and Economic Development Coordinator – Aldeman Downey questioned the City Council about the motion made to advertise for the Zoning potion at the last meeting. The City Council had an discussion about the previous motion. Motion to appoint Bobbi Bates for the Administrative Coordinator and Economic Development Coordinator made by Alderman Ober, seconded by Koller, motion passed unanimously.

Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 6:11 p.m., seconded by Koller motion passed unanimously.
