City of Assumption Water/Wastewater Committee met Sept. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Meeting called to order at 6:39 p.m. by Alderperson Walden at City Hall.

Water Committee members present were Alderpersons Donny Walden and Travis Sullivan. Also present was Mayor Derek Page, Treasurer Angel Palmer and City Clerk Janet Waller.

Water Supt Jack Duncan arrived at 6:37 pm.

Absent was Alderperson Ross Workman.

Present in the audience was Ron Legner from Chastain and Associates.

Alderperson Walden made a motion to approve the minutes of August 15, 2023

Water/Wastewater Committee meeting minutes, seconded by Alderperson Sullian. Motion carried with Alderperson Workman, Walden and Sullivan voting aye and 0 nays.

NPDES Progress Report:

The NPDES permit needs renewed before July 1, 2024 and we need to apply 180 days before it expired. Engineer Ron Legner continues to work on the renewal process.

Under Old Business:

The new service truck will be here in September. City will need to purchase a plow package, power tools and a generator for the new truck.

Under New Business:

Engineer Ron Legner updated the committee on Sanitary Sewer Phase 2. Leafland Street will be patched on Wednesday and the Leafland should reopen this week. The plumber will be working on the wet wells. Petersburg Plumbing will start working on College Street.

The Water Treatment Plant should be advertised for bid in approximately 1 month. They are working with suppliers.

The Watermain Project will start up again in the near future.

The contract for 120water will be sent to us to sign for the Lead Service Project.

The fire hydrant will be set tomorrow.

The compliance agreement is almost ready to be turned in.
