City of Assumption Police Committee met Sept. 20.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Alderperson Sullivan at City Hall.
Streets Committee members present were Sullivan, Reed and Smith. Also present was Mayor Page, Street Supt Darin Damery and City Clerk Janet Waller.
Also present was Engineer Mark Bingham from Bingham Professional Services, Joyce Throneburg and Dan Davis.
Council Member Reed, seconded by Council Member Smith, made a motion to approve the Streets Committee Minutes from August 9, 2023.
Under Old Business:
Street Supt will work on getting a price for a generator for the Street Shed.
New Business
Hutchins Excavating has finished the sidewalks on Chestnut Street. They will begin work on the sidewalk to Casey’s next week.
The path to Dollar General will also be done this week.
The committee discussed the amount of storm damage to the trees and reimbursement for the damage from FEMA. Mayor Page will check with DCEO.
Dumpster Days will be September 22 & 23.
Engineer Mark Bingham went over preliminary plans for drainage, water and sewer for the subdivision and asked for input.
Oil and chip will be done on Tuesday, September 26th weather permitting.
Mayor Page would like to start getting ideas on rules for the limb pickup for next year.
Alderperson Sullivan made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:14 pm.
