City of Carlinville City Council met Nov. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

PRESENT: Alderman Harber, Alderman Koller, Alderman LeVora, Alderman Link, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman Ober, Alderman Downey, Alderman Reese, Mayor Sarah Oswald, Treasurer Jody Reichmann, Police Chief Graham, Bobbi Bates Economic Development and Zoning Administrator, and Budget Officer Linda Boente

Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Levora, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills - Motion made to approve reports and bills by Alderman Harber, seconded Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

Marsha Crane Rhodes Correspondence: Marsha requested to have a lift on the sidewalk by the Jewel on the square until the end of the year. The City Council decided that when not in use it will need to be off the sidewalk/square.

Amee Lee Correspondence: Amee Lee resignation from the cleaning of the city buildings. Motion to place on file by Alderman Ober, seconded by Link, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment

Old Business

Our Market Presentation: Our Market presented information about the pre-construction open house being held on November 12th.

Additional Water Meter Cost: The City Council had a discussion about the additional water meter cost of $200,000 and will be taking the cost to Finance to determine where this will be paid out of.

New Business

Advertise for Cleaning Bids/Municipal Buildings: Motion to advertise made by Alderman Downey, seconded by Harber, motion passed unanimously.

Lake 2 0 Gate Security: Chief Graham explained to the City Council that this gate needs to be moved and secured because of all the people driving around it.

Update on Tourism: Bobbi Bates spoke with the City Council about Scenic Byway guide book advertising. Bobbi Bates and Alderman Downey will get everything together that tourism is interested in advertising in.

Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 6:38 p.m., seconded by Koller motion passed unanimously.
