City of Carlinville City Council met April 1.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
PRESENT: Alderman Downey, Alderman Harber, Alderman Ober, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman Koller, Alderman Reese, Alderman Link, City Clerk Carla Brockmeier, Mayor Oswald, Chief Derek Graham, Budget Officer Linda Boente, City Treasurer Jody Reichmann, Bobbi Bates Zoning Administrator/Econ Dev/Grant Writing, Dan Held Woodard and Curran, Absent: Alderman LeVora
Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Reese, motion passed unanimously.
Approval of Bills - Motion was made to approve bills by Alderman Wagstaff, seconded by Koller, motion passed unanimously.
Correspondence - None
Public Comment – Mayor thanked the Carlinville Fire District and all involved in fighting a major fire on Easter Sunday.
Old Business
Lake Purchase of Side by Side – Motion was made by Alderman Harber to purchase a new side by-side for use at the lake for $17,300.00 from Nails Power & Equipment, seconded by Wagstaff, motion passed 6-1, with Ober voting nay.
24/25 Budget Update and Potential Special Meeting Date – Alderman Harber informed the council we will need to call a special meeting on April 29, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. to pass the budget with a public hearing being held 15 minutes prior. We will place notice of public hearing in the local paper and post agenda for meeting. We will also pass a salary ordinance along with the budget.
New Business
2024-25 MFT Maintenance Program Approval – IDOT documents for maintenance engineering, general maintenance and a resolution for maintenance were passed after a motion was made by Alderman Link, seconded by Ober, motion passed unanimously.
Rivers and Routes – Alderman Downey made a motion to approve $230.00 a month for 12 months to advertise on the River and Routes webpage, the county may split the cost with us, pending board approval, motion was seconded by Harber and passed unanimously.
Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 6:21 p.m., seconded by Koller motion passed unanimously.
