1. Animal Control Administrator Contract

Garrison said he had a draft of the contract that was similar to the contract that had been used for the previous administrators. There were some questions about probation, but since she was an at will employee, she could be let go at any time so probation wasn't really necessary. There was a question about pro rating time off pay outs if employment ends early and that was included.

Otherwise it was similar to the contracts used before.

Motion by Starr, seconded by Payne to recommend the full contract.

2. Discuss Informal Meeting with Metro East Humane Society

Schmidt said they had met with the Metro East Humane Society recently to discuss options for how working with the Metro East Humane Society. Boehler said that potentially there were options for them to assist. For example, they have over 100 volunteers and help us set up a program to increase our volunteer base. There was also a program that would allow for if kids were having a slumber party to rent a dog for the night. There was no donations coming to the county from them in terms of medicine or supplies. There was a question of would they be handling the adoptions for the county. Boehler said no but they would help teach Macoupin their techniques for adoptions. Starr said in essence this would be establishing a relationship with them at no cost and see how it would help us in the future, is that correct? Boehler said yes.

Motion by Starr, seconded by Barr to recommend to the full Board establishing a relationship with Metro East Humane Society.
