Macoupin County Board Public Safety Committee met Oct. 1.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
I. CALL TO ORDER
PRESENT: Kiel, Dragovich, Barr, Adden, Ibberson, Payne, Starr, Schmidt, Duncan, Stayton, Blank, Boehler, Morris

II. AGENDA ITEMS
1. Animal Control Discussion
Kiel said this would be a broad discussion about Animal Control. Gerl had recently quit so the Board needed to have a discussion about what they wanted to with Animal Control. Gerl was still interested in the position and would meet with the committee at a later date. Boehler and Morris were present to discuss some of their concerns.
The Board had also heard from the Metro East Humane Society who was supposed to present tonight but they had said their Board was not interested at this time in further discussions. The committee discussed options for this considering it had been talked about for a few months without any real progress.
The committee decided to speak with Gerl at a special meeting on Thursday night at 6:00 pm
