FOIA Request to City of Hillsboro Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
We at South Central Reporter, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to the City of Hillsboro. The request pertains to obtaining records of all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, up until the present date.
The specific fields requested in relation to these permits include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's details, address associated with the permit, and contractor name.
In addition to this information on new permits, we also requested a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. The same detailed fields as mentioned above were asked for these active permits.
As a media organization committed to public service journalism, access to public records is crucial for us at South Central Reporter.
