FOIA Request to City Of Assumption Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
South Central Reporter, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) for records pertaining to residential and commercial building permits.
The request specifically seeks a list of all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, up until the present date. The information requested includes details such as the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address of the property, and contractor's name.
In addition to this, South Central Reporter also requests a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. The same fields as mentioned above are required for these active permits as well.
As part of our mission at South Central Reporter to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public, access to these public records is crucial.
