FOIA Request to Christian County Sheriff's Office Regarding 2024 Arrest Records on January 7, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at South Central Reporter have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) for the arrest records from the year 2024.
The requested information includes a list of all arrests from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024. The specific fields we are seeking are: the arrestee's name, date of arrest, gender, race, date of birth, and the crime committed.
We believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver for this information.
