City of Pana City Council met Jan. 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Nathan Pastor called the meeting of the Pana City Council to order at 7:00 P.M.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited.

Roll Call showed the following Alderpersons as being present: Christer, Eddy, Schneider, Stephens, Scott, Smith, Garrett, Beeson were present. Eight aldermen were present. None were absent.

Scott/Smith to approve the consent agenda as presented. Items included in the consent agenda are the minutes of the January 13, 2025 regular session meeting, payrolls to be paid on January 25 and 31, 2025, disbursements to be paid February 1, 2025, and the Treasurer’s Report of December 2024. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Christer, Eddy, Schneider, Stephens, Scott, Smith, Garrett, Beeson, voting aye. No nays. Eight ayes.

Scott/Beeson to pass Ordinance #2012, “An Ordinance Imposing Water Meter Testing Fee.” The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Eddy, Schneider, Stephens, Scott, Smith, Garrett, Beeson voting aye. Christer voting nay. One nay. Seven ayes.

Scott/Beeson to pass Resolution #25-02, “A Resolution Approving Intergovernmental Agreement by and between City of Pana and Pana Community Unit School District #8.” The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Schneider, Stephens, Scott, Smith, Garrett, Beeson, Christer voting aye. Eddy recused himself. No nays. Seven ayes. One recused.

City Engineer Greg Holthaus stated that the stop signs for the intersection of 7th and Chestnut will be installed this week making it a four-way stop.

Scott/Smith to pass Resolution #25-03, “A Resolution Authorizing a Pre-Annexation Agreement with Christopher Christian.” The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Stephens, Scott, Smith, Garrett, Beeson, Christer, Eddy, Schneider voting aye. No nays. Eight ayes.

Scott/Stephens to approve a water/sewer bill adjustment for Abby Cohan at 107 S Walnut in the amount of $658.67. The motion carried on the following roll call vote: Scott, Smith, Garrett, Beeson, Christer, Eddy, Schneider, Stephens voting aye. No nays. Eight ayes.

Alderperson Beeson stated that there will be an Economic Development and TIF Committee Meeting on Friday, January 31st at 9:00a.m.

Alderperson Beeson to recognize Brooke Key.

Brooke Key addressed Council regarding the double lake lot fee that is assessed after January 10.

Scott/Stephens to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
