City of Salem Zoning Board of Appeals met Aug. 19.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

III. Variance Request - Gene Jiang, 307 E. Mitchell St, Salem, IL, is petitioning the Zoning Board of Appeals for a variance from Sec. 23-198 Setback requirements in RS-5, which restricts the size for a property due to the minimum Setback requirements. The petitioner is requesting a variance to use the existing lot to allow placement of a single-family residence in the RS-5 Single Family Residence District. Mr. Jiang is requesting a 5-foot variance of the Side property line setback requirement. 

The property is legally described as: PIN: 1100010485, GEO. E. LESTER ADD. LOT 2 BLOCK 11, Salem, Marion County, Illinois.
