Illinois Senate candidate Seth McMillan recently took to social media to support American workers during the nation’s Labor Day festivities.

McMillan posted photos on Facebook from his meet-and-greet at the 2018 Pana Labor Day Parade.

"Labor Day is a well deserved day of rest, parades, picnics, family time for our American Workers [sic]," he said on Facebook. “We have built our great land brick by brick, field by field, board by board, from sun up until sundown each and every day. This was your day and I am honored to say I shook the hands of many of those hard working [sic] individuals as I stopped to thank them.”

McMillan also thanked first responders and members of the armed forces for their service during the holiday.

In a separate Facebook post, McMillan — who is running against Sen. Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) for the 48th Senate District seat — also criticized his opponent’s position on immigration.

“You cannot support illegal immigration and support the American Worker [sic] at the same time,” McMillan said. “My opponent along with his Chicago sugar daddy Mike Madigan have given too much to illegal aliens and have ruined the American Dream for many in illinois [sic]. It’s time to take our state back.”

The 48th state Senate District includes Christian, Macon, Macoupin, Madison, Montgomery and Sangamon counties.
