Republican Senate candidate Seth McMillan recently took Sen. Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) to task regarding alleged deception over term limits in a new ad posted on Facebook.
“Andy Manar isn’t telling the truth about term limits,” the advertisement stated.
The text was followed by audio of Manar voicing support for legislative term limits. However, as the clip continued, Manar appeared in a TV interview saying he does not support them.

“You can’t trust Andy Manar,” the ad stated.
McMillan is running against Manar for the 48th District state Senate seat in November's general election.
McMillan also recently pointed out on Facebook that Manar has received campaign funds from other Democratic lawmakers and candidates.
“My opponent, Andy Manar, has received almost $300,000 from Chicago Democrats like J.B. Pritzker and Mike Madigan in the past month,” McMillan said. “Help us fight back against dirty campaign tricks.”
McMillan then asked voters to support his campaign through online donations.
The 48th District includes Christian, Macon, Macoupin, Madison, Montgomery and Sangamon County.
