City of Breese issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.
The State of Illinois, acting by and through its DOT, in cooperation with the City of Breese, in order to facilitate the free flow of traffic and increase the safety to the motoring public, is desirous of improving FAS Route 1780 (Old US 50) 2 miles west of N. Walnut St. in breese, by repairing the bridge deck and jounts of structure 014-0031 which carries Old Rt. 50 over Lake Branch and performing all other work necessary to complete this improvement in accoerdance with the approved plans and specifications, to be known as Section 26BDR-BJR-1.
During the bridge repairs, Old US. 50 will have one lane closed and there will be temporary bridge traffic signals at the work zone.
This is an IDOT project.
Estimated cost of the improvement is $375,000
