The campaign committee of state senator candidate Andrew Manar, Friends of Andy Manar, returned a $1,000 contribution from James Crown on April 16, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Crown has not made any other contributions to Andrew Manar in the past 12 months.
