City of Centralia Veteran Affairs Committee met Sept. 10.

The meeting was called to order at 4:00 by Vernell Burris. All stood and stated the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members Present: Butch Mathus, Hugh Moran, Wayne Sensel, Vernell Burris, Bill Helpingstine,
Members Absent: Howard Jones, Michael Mulvin, Jim Murphy, Bill Smith, and Judy Sutherland
Administrative Staff Present: Lowell Crow, City Manager PUBLIC COMMENT- None
MINUTES – The minutes from March 13th were reviewed; Burris motioned to approve Moran seconded.
TREASURY REPORT – Crow reported the balance was at 5, 127.81 at the start of October and with the $725 Donations made in honor of Ann Chapel
ONGOING BUSINESS – Flag Mounts where discussed with flag mounts placed at Dollar General, Ace Hardware, Burger King, Walgreens and the VFW. Also, Hugh Moran mentioned that we have 30 new flags and 10 flag poles. Fund raising was discussed and Beggars Corner was booked for the 7th of November. The Board also agreed to leave the flags flying until after Veterans’ days.
