Macoupin County Board Building and Grounds Committee met July 8.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
I. CALL TO ORDER
PRESENT: Starr, Ibberson, Blank, Heuer, Kilduff, Trevino, Duncan, Kahl
ABSENT: Barr
II. AGENDA ITEMacS
1. Derelict Property in the County Trustee's Name and Maintenance
Starr said the Sheriff had some properties that were being held by the county trustee after taxes were not paid. The previous State's Attorney said that the county was not responsible for the maintenance of these properties but the City of Carlinville was pushing to have the county maintain them. There was no money available for those costs. The State's Attorney was looking into the issue.
They would discuss it after the State's Attorney completed the review.
2. Courthouse Roof Safety Policy
Starr said it was time to get a final policy in place. There was some discussion about items to include in the policy. Trevino said he would reach out to the company they use at this work to see if they have a template that the county could use. There would be further discussion on the item at a later meeting.
3. Granting Building and Grounds Committee Power-to-Act on Approving Bids for Voting Center Parking Lot Expansion
Duncan said that bids were going out for expanding the parking lot between the Voting Center and old jail. Since time was getting tight, he was asking that the Building and Grounds committee be granted power to act on awarding those bids. There was American Rescue Plan act money available for this as well as money remaining from the Election Excellence Grant.
Motion by Kilduff, seconded by Blank to recommend granting the Building and Grounds committee power to act on voting center parking lot expansion.
