FOIA Request to Bond County Clerk Regarding 2025 Consolidated Elections Candidates on January 14, 2025.
In our continuous efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at South Central Reporter have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to the Bond County Clerk.
The request specifically seeks access to a list of candidates running for the upcoming 2025 Consolidated Elections. The information requested includes the names of the candidates, the dates they filed their candidacy, and the office for which they are running.
As an organization committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, we believe that access to such records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
We await a response from the Bond County Clerk's office and will continue our mission of providing comprehensive news coverage on local governmental affairs.
