Report: Wesclin spent $8,649 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Wesclin Community Unit School District 3 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Clinton County school district spent $7,948 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,649 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1325 to 1361.

Wesclin's spending in 2016-17 was 33 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
