Panhandle Community Unit School District 2 students suspended 17 times in a single school year

Panhandle Community Unit School District 2 reported 17 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 17 students during the year. That equates to 3.4 percent of the 495 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 11 incidents. There were three incidents of alcohol. For 11 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for alcohol. The category includes one incidents. There were one incidents of unspecified reasons. For one incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
