State Rep. Sue Scherer (D-Decatur) provided details about an after-school program offered in the city.
“$4 a month," she said in a Facebook post. "Thank you, Boys & Girls Club of Decatur, Inc.!"
The after-school program started on Aug. 22, a flyer on Scherer's post noted. It runs Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is open to youth ages seven to 17.
The Boys & Girls Club of Decatur offers a variety of programs and activities to all club members, according to its website. Programs include Smart Moves, Money Matters, Career Launch, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), and Power Hour Homework Help.
Scherer was first elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 2013. She has served on the following committees: Agriculture and Conservation, Economic Development, Higher Education, Small Business Empowerment and Workforce, and Public Safety: Police & Fire.
